SUPPORT IMPLEMENTATION OF SEL

Once a plan is defined, we will work with staff and districts and/or school sites to support implementation.

HOW WE CAN HELP

  • LEARN ABOUT SEL
We will help your community develop a shared understanding of the meaning and value of SEL, define core competencies, and explore practices that may already be embedded in your approaches.

  • PLAN FOR COMPREHENSIVE SEL
Sometimes it’s hard to see the great work that’s already happening in your school or district. At the same time, we know that intentionality and consistency drive effectiveness and outcomes. PCY’s planning process creates a coherent system by helping you identify your school or district assests, figure out the gaps, and define an intentional set of strategies that strengthen your practices and systems. Our process and facilitation are adapted to meet the unique needs of your school or district community.

  • SUPPORT IMPLEMENTATION OF SEL
Once a plan is defined, PCY can work with staff at districts and/or school sites to supporrt implementation through:

    • Pilot implementation—Many districts and schools want to test out and adapt their approaches in small doses. PCY can help design pilots that focus on learning and improvement headed toward successful scaling.

    • Staff training—Any new or strengthened approach requires significant staff support. PCY can plan and deliver effective training for multiple audiences—district, site, classroom, and community partners—with a goal of building the work on a strong foundation.

    • Staff coaching—Along the way staff—particularly administrators—will feel stretched by the demands and challenges of implementation. PCY can support and advise school and district staff as they troubleshoot the unexpected.

    • Continuous improvement—By gathering input and data about what’s working and where there are challenges, schools and districts can adjust and revise their approaches. PCY can set up the tools and processes for continuously improving approaches during implementation.

    • Resource brokering—PCY does not have all the answers or skill sets, but it does have lots of partners and contacts. When help is needed beyond PCY’s wheelhouse, we are quick to make the connections to the resources that will be most helpful in the moment.
