Attendance Recovery

Beginning in July 2025, California’s Attendance Recovery (AR) policy presents districts with a critical opportunity to both recoup lost attendance-based funding and re-engage students who have become disconnected from school. When implemented thoughtfully, AR can strengthen student engagement, deepen relationships with caring adults, and foster meaningful collaboration between teachers and expanded learning staff.
