Every Child Belongs: Inclusion in ELO-P

This video offers clear guidance on legal requirements and best practices for serving students with disabilities in state-funded expanded learning programs. As ELO-P is now universally accessible, denying access to students with disabilities is considered discrimination. This video breaks down what programs need to know and provides practical strategies for working with families and teachers to implement reasonable accommodations. We hope this resource sparks conversation, collaborative planning, and inspires more expanded learning programs and partners to serve all students.

Use this video guide to deepen your learning and navigation of inclusion in ELO-P. This resource provides:

  1. Takeaways from the video for families, districts/LEAs, and expanded learning program providers

  2. Information on legal requirements

  3. Best practices

  4. Considerations for serving students with disabilities

Inclusive Design Worksheet

The Multi-Dimensional Design Tool was created by Kristen Henry of Elevo and Kari Adams of the Thompson Policy Institute for our BOOST workshop, Designing Multidimensional Learning Opportunities for Students in Expanded Learning. Grounded in evidence-based frameworks, the tool helps leaders design inclusive, high-quality programs for all students. Its Design Score focuses on five key elements: Cognitive Stretch, Physical Regulation, Social Connection, Emotional Development, and Identity & Purpose, supporting more intentional and equitable learning opportunities.
