Professional Learning in Action

American Institutes for Research (AIR) has released an interim brief describing findings-to-date from its ongoing study of the Partnership for Children & Youth (PCY)’s initiative to support cross-sector learning – the Expanded Learning 360°/365 professional learning community (PLC). Through this initiative, PCY engages teams of school day and expanded learning programs from nine California school districts to align their social-emotional learning practices. AIR is partnering with PCY to explore and describe the practices that promote quality PLC implementation. The brief provides initial highlights of the key components needed to conduct a successful PLC, facilitation tips, and outcomes experienced by participants.
